I work on the parts of software nobody sees until they break.
Most systems I've worked on grew in pieces: services, queues and data stores built by different teams at different times. My job is usually to make them behave like one thing again, so they're fast, predictable and boring to run. The part I enjoy more is helping the engineers who look after them get better at it.
Outside work I build small things. Todos is on the Chrome Web Store. Rangi is a voice agent that ordered me a coffee. This site is where that work, and the thinking behind it, ends up.
